On Wednesday, December 9, The Lawyers Division of the New York Region held its 21st Annual Human Relations Award Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Over 300 members of New York’s legal community gathered to celebrate our honorees, James E. Brandt of Latham & Watkins, Rikki Klieman of CBS News and Barry F. Schwartz of MacAndrews & Forbes. Howard W. Goldstein received the inaugural Edward Brodsky Founder’s Award for his years of dedication to the Lawyers Division and ADL. Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL’s CEO and National Director, gave the keynote address and shared his vision for ADL. Over $765,000 was raised in to benefit ADL’s timely and critical mission of combating anti-Semitism, bigotry and hate in all its forms.
The mission of the Lawyers Division is to unite members of the legal community committed to the mission of ADL – to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all. In its more than 20 year history, the Lawyers Division has carried on the of the tradition of the legal community’s commitment to the civil rights and social justice initiatives of ADL and connect with established professionals dedicated to advancing its mission through legal advocacy, amicus briefs, research and philanthropy.
