New York/New Jersey Region

ADL is the world’s leading anti-hate organization. Founded in 1913 in response to an escalating climate of antisemitism and bigotry, our timeless mission is to protect the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all. Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of hate with the same vigor and passion. A global leader in exposing extremism, delivering anti-bias education, and fighting hate online, ADL is the first call when acts of antisemitism and hate occur.

ADL accomplishes its work through a network of 25 regional offices that operate in local communities and through programs and advocacy in Europe and Israel. ADL New York/New Jersey works across New York State, including a satellite office in Albany through the generous support of Neil and Jane Golub, and Northern and Central New Jersey. Our regional team focuses on responding to antisemitic and hate incidents; speaking out against all forms of bias and bigotry; engaging elected officials and policymakers; educating teachers and children; and partnering with and training local law enforcement.

Though we know the world will continue to change and challenge us, ADL will remain steadfast in the tireless pursuit of our mission.

Here is how your support makes an impact:

  • Over 120,000 students have been impacted by ADL’s No Place For Hate® initiative, which helps create a more inclusive school culture by providing a framework to combat bias, bullying and hate.
  • 3,000 students and families participated in Words to Action programs throughout New York and New Jersey, learning information and response strategies to challenge antisemitism and anti-Israel bias on campus and in the community.
  • Over 1,000 New York and New Jersey law enforcement officers have been trained on how to address extremism, hate crimes and counter terrorism in their communities.
  • Over 800 incidents of antisemitism and hate are recorded and addressed annually by ADL professionals in collaboration with law enforcement and a broad range of community partners to ensure that every individual’s rights are protected.
