ADL New York Regional Director Evan Bernstein joined Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Jewish Museum in Manhattan. The meeting, which was organized to debrief New York Jewish community leaders about Governor Cuomo’s recent trip to Israel, was also an opportunity for the Governor to highlight his strong support for Israel. Governor Cuomo reinforced the relevance of the Israel-Hamas Conflict to New York, pointing out that there are 1.7 million Jewish New Yorkers, declaring “I think any New Yorker who doesn’t understand that Israel’s fight is our fight is living not in the state of New York, but in a state of denial.”ADL applauds Governor Cuomo’s strident support for Israel during this critical time and his willingness to alert New Yorkers about their personal stake in countering terrorism.
