Evening with an Author: Liza Wiemer

May 5, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Please join ADL New York/New Jersey on May 5th at 7:00PM ET for an “Evening with an Author” with award-winning educator and author, Liza Wiemer.

Liza Wiemer will share a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the award-winning novel, The Assignment, which was inspired by real events that took place in Oswego, NY in 2017 as well as others around the country. A work of fiction, its roots stem from extensive research, historical and modern-day material, providing a bridge between the past and the present.

Beth Martinez, ADL Education Director of Albany, played an integral part in putting an end to the original assignment. She’ll present the work ADL did to make a positive difference. Liza’s presentation will delve into similar assignments like the one in the novel and their impact on students, schools, communities and the world as well as what it takes to empower our youth to be upstanders in the face of injustice.
