Join ADL New York/ New Jersey and Temple New Tamid for a presentation on the intersection of free speech and hate speech, and specifically how this plays out on social media platforms. ADL’s Counsel for Technology Policy & Advocacy, Lauren Krapf, will present an overview of the subject, including what social media platforms and lawmakers can do to curb hate without infringing on First Amendment rights. Lauren will cover civil rights efforts and policy initiatives attempting to decrease hate online and promote the use of technology to curtail bias, including ADL initiatives like Backspace Hate and Stop Hate for Profit.
This event is in partnership with ADL NY/NJ’s Signature Synagogue Program.
