At the invitation of the Consul General of Colombia to NY, ADL New York Associate Director Melanie Robbins and ADL Director of Latin American Affairs Sonia Spar presented the ADL campaign #DenunciaElOdio (#ExposeHate) at the 2017 ColombiaFest, a major initiative of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulates of Colombia in New York and New Jersey.

The event drew over 8,5000 people from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania – Colombian nationals, businesses, community organizations and allies – to the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City, for a two day expo and festival. ADL addressed the audience at noon and the campaign ran throughout the day on the TV in the main hall. ADL team distributed flyers and posters to attendees to raise awareness on the importance of reporting hate, and to help educate on hate crimes, bias incidents, discrimination and bullying.
