ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) released the final statistics for antisemitic incidents in 2023, reporting a total of 8,873 incidents of assault, harassment, and vandalism across the country. The total represents a 140-percent increase from 2022 – already a record-setting year – and the highest level recorded since ADL started tracking this data in 1979.

Reported antisemitic incidents in New York and New Jersey hit record highs in 2023. In New York, reported antisemitic incidents in 2023 rose by 110 percent, reaching 1218 total incidents – the second highest number recorded in any state across the country last year. In New Jersey, reported antisemitic incidents in 2023 rose by 103 percent, reaching 830 total incidents – the third-highest number recorded in any state across the country last year.
