With immense gratitude and appreciation, ADL New York Region shines February’s spotlight on the Arlene & Daniel Fisher Family Foundation for their generous support of the New York Region’s Confronting Anti-Semitism (CAS) initiative.
The CAS initiative, which includes programs for Jewish middle school, high school, and college students, focuses on raising awareness of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias. The 2-2.5 hour programs are implemented in interactive workshop form, and provide students the opportunity to discuss realistic scenarios of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias, understand the nuances between different manifestations of anti-Jewish sentiment, and learn effective response strategies from trained ADL program facilitators.
Sharon Fisher, her parents Arlene and Daniel and brother Jeffrey have been leaders in the ADL New York Region community over the last several years, and leaders in the fight against anti-Semitism for many more. Understanding the importance of ADL’s CAS initiative, the Fisher family attended a program for middle school students and their family members in Roslyn, New York. Sharon Fisher expressed how the program “plants a seed in the children, so they are aware and prepared for what is unfortunately occurring today.”
Their sponsorship of our CAS initiative portrays the Fisher Family’s dedication to joining ADL in educating youth to stand up to anti-Semitism and ensuring they have the tools to spread positive messages about Jews and Israel.
We proudly acknowledge the Fisher Family Foundation for their generosity and providing us the ability to offer more programs to Jewish students in the New York region.
