ADL New York Region, led by Director Evan Bernstein, joins coalition of Jewish organizations to fight anti-Semitism in Long Island.

On January 4, 2015, ADL New York Region conducted a Words to Action training workshop for 25 Albany based Jewish High School and College students. The goal of Words to Action is to equip students with the necessary tools to identify and respond to anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias on college campuses and the community at large. The Jewish World writes,

New York, NY, December 22, 2014 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today welcomed the arrest of a third suspect for his involvement in a series of violent assaults that took place at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack on November 28. “This was a heinous, senseless and shocking assault on two New York City Police officers whose only crime was in reporting for duty. It is hard to find words to explain why anyone would think it appropriate to kill police officers in cold blood,” Evan Bernstein, ADL’s New York regional director, said in a statement Saturday night.  

On December 15, Spring Valley legislator Aron Wieder, a traditional Orthodox Jew, received a letter containing a photograph that superimposed his face on the body of an ISIS prisoner about to be beheaded. Evan Bernstein, ADL New York Regional Director quoted.
