In a letter to the editor of Rockland County Times, the Anti-Defamation League’s New York Regional Director Evan Bernstein addressed the issue of anti-Semitism and racism in debates over Ramapo public schools.
In his letter, Bernstein referred to a March 17 column by Rockland County Executive Ed Day (“Fighting for East Ramapo”), which discussed the debate regarding a state-appointed monitor for the East Ramapo central school district.
“The debate of the plight of the district’s public schools is legitimate and we are sympathetic to the district’s parents and students who have seen a depletion of school resources and services over the last several years,” Bernstein wrote.
