In a statement, Evan R. Bernstein, ADL New York Regional Director, said that the ADL was “appalled” that Jewish students at Vassar felt compelled to hide their Jewish identity out of concern for personal safety. “These firsthand accounts from students about anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias – both from faculty and other students – are of great concern to us,” Bernstein said.
