New York, NY, July 14, 2014 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today welcomed Governor Andrew Cuomo’s statement affirming New York State’s support of Israel and its right to defend itself from terrorism.

Evan R. Bernstein, ADL New York Regional Director, issued the following statement:

        We applaud Governor Cuomo’s statement in support of Israel. Particularly at this time when Israel is being unfairly portrayed as an aggressor in the current conflict, while the terror group Hamas’ culpability is ignored, it is reassuring to know that New York is committed to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel.

       Governor Cuomo should be commended for his strong support of the Jewish community here in New York and abroad. He recognizes that Israel has no choice but to protect its civilians, just as we would expect of our leaders.
