New York, NY, April 23, 2015 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) welcomed today’s Senate confirmation of Loretta Lynch as United States Attorney General.
Barry Curtiss-Lusher, ADL National Chair, and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:
We are pleased that the Senate has confirmed Loretta Lynch as Attorney General, and we congratulate her as she takes on her important new responsibilities. Ms. Lynch’s stellar 30-year legal career – especially her two tenures as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York – has provided her with the skills and experience necessary to be a very successful Attorney General.
The delay in her confirmation was regrettable. There was never any doubt that she was superbly qualified to serve as Attorney General.
Now that Ms. Lynch has been confirmed, we are confident her past experience and leadership in preventing crime and terrorist incidents, expanding national security and cyber-security enforcement actions, and addressing the critical trust relationship between law enforcement and communities will serve her well as Attorney General.
