New York, NY, July 30, 2014 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today denounced a virulent anti-Muslim flier found in an apartment building in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, which read “Islamists! Go to your own country!!! USA hates you!!! You are terrorists and bastards!!! You are the second Holocaust!!!!”

The flier was discovered on July 29.

“We deplore this repugnant act of hate directed against the Muslim community here in New York City,” said Evan R. Bernstein, ADL New York Regional Director. “We echo the sentiments of Mayor de Blasio and City Council Member Treyger in condemning this searing act of hate.”

Mr. Bernstein added, “Any action that incites violence and threatens the safety of any New Yorker – regardless of their background – must not be tolerated. The offensive invocation of the Holocaust and scapegoating of Muslims is unacceptable, and at a time when global tensions are running high, we should be focused on bringing diverse communities in New York together in understanding.”
