SUMMARY:Audit Briefing: Long Island Group
DESCRIPTION:ADL recently released its 2020 Audit of Antisemitic Incidents. ADL has been tracking antisemitic incidents since 1979\, and this past year was the third highest on record. The total number of incidents recorded was 2\,024\, just 83 incidents behind 2019\, the highest year ever recorded. More than half of those incidents involved harassment\, and the rest consisted mostly of vandalism and assaults. ADL’s Heat Map shows the details. \nIn 2020\, New York had 336 reported incidents\, more than any other state. Long Island had 56 reported incidents – with 36 in Nassau County and 20 in Suffolk County – these numbers are up 22% from 2019.\nPlease join Scott Richman\, ADL NY/NJ Regional Director\, and Rachel Grinspan\, ADL NY/NJ Director of Community Affairs\, on Thursday\, June 3rd at 6pm for an in depth briefing on ADL’s Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents. Scott and Rachel will provide analysis of our region’s findings\, focusing specifically on those incidents occurring within our Long Island communities\, including December 2020’s cyber attack at North Shore Hebrew Academy High School. \nFor more information or questions\, please contact Amelia Morris at amorris@adl.org. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER
