SUMMARY:Diamonds in the Snow Screening
DESCRIPTION:The Hidden Child Foundation and the ADL New York/New Jersey Region invite you to join a virtual screening and panel discussion of the 1994 prize-winning documentary Diamonds in the Snow by Mira Reym Binford\, filmmaker and educator. \nThousands of Jewish children lived in the Polish city of Bedzin before the Holocaust. Barely a dozen survived the community’s destruction. Through interviews and rare archival film and photos\, this critically acclaimed\, international award-winning documentary tells the story of three of these children\, Ada Raviv\, Shulamit Levin\, and Mira Binford (the filmmaker). The women recount their memories of a childhood spent hiding from the Nazis\, and they reflect on the courage of those who helped them to survive. The film not only documents a tragic historical period but also examines the complexity of human nature\, undermining stereotypes about the behavior of Jews\, Poles\, and even some Germans during the era. \n*Once registered we will send an email on April 28ths to view the film through May 3rd.  \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER

DESCRIPTION:Please join ADL New York/New Jersey on May 5th at 7:00PM ET for an “Evening with an Author” with award-winning educator and author\, Liza Wiemer. \nLiza Wiemer will share a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the award-winning novel\, The Assignment\, which was inspired by real events that took place in Oswego\, NY in 2017 as well as others around the country.
