SUMMARY:Released: 2020 Audit of Antisemitic Inidents
DESCRIPTION:In 2020\, ADL recorded 2\,024 antisemitic incidents in the United States. While antisemitic incidents declined by 4 percent after hitting an all-time high in 2019\, last year was the third-highest year for incidents against American Jews since ADL started tracking this data in 1979. \nIncidents remained at historically high levels amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As lockdowns related to the pandemic began in March\, incidents in schools and on college campuses decreased as learning moved online. “Zoombombing”—the intentional disruption of live videoconferences—rose significantly in 2020.  ADL recorded 196 incidents of antisemitic videoconferencing attacks last year\, of which 114 targeted Jewish institutions such as schools and synagogues. \nCLICK TO READ REGIONAL REPORT \nCLICK TO READ NATIONAL REPORT  \nFeatured: \n– Executive Summary\n– Major Findings\n– Themes and Trends\n– Methodology\n– Policy Recommendations\n– Take Action\n– Acknowledgements

As one of ADL’s most dedicated advocates in the fight against hate\, we hope you will join us for this exclusive event. \nADL has been tracking antisemitic incidents since 1979\, and this past year was the third highest on record. The total number of incidents recorded was 2\,024\, just 83 incidents behind 2019\, the highest year ever recorded. More than half of those incidents involved harassment\, and the rest consisted mostly of vandalism and assaults. ADL’s Heat Map shows the details. \nLooking at the 50 states\, New York had more incidents than any other state with 336 incidents\, followed by New Jersey which occupies the number 2 spot with 295 incidents. These 631 incidents were tracked and responded to by ADL New York/New Jersey’s Regional Operations team\, representing an enormous commitment to fighting antisemitism in the trenches. \nWe will discuss these trends and analyze how and where our communities are being affected. Hear directly from Regional Director Scott Richman\, Deputy Regional Director Alexander Rosemberg\, Director of Community Affairs Rachel Grinspan\, and Associate Regional Director\, Alana Burman in this exclusive opportunity to learn more about ADL’s critical work and impact.
