SUMMARY:Audit Briefing: Frontline Giving Society
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an in depth briefing from the ADL NY/NJ staff on both the national and local findings of ADL’s Annual Audit of Antisemitic incidents. As one of ADL’s most dedicated advocates in the fight against hate\, we hope you will join us for this exclusive event. \nADL has been tracking antisemitic incidents since 1979\, and this past year was the third highest on record. The total number of incidents recorded was 2\,024\, just 83 incidents behind 2019\, the highest year ever recorded. More than half of those incidents involved harassment\, and the rest consisted mostly of vandalism and assaults. ADL’s Heat Map shows the details. \nLooking at the 50 states\, New York had more incidents than any other state with 336 incidents\, followed by New Jersey which occupies the number 2 spot with 295 incidents. These 631 incidents were tracked and responded to by ADL New York/New Jersey’s Regional Operations team\, representing an enormous commitment to fighting antisemitism in the trenches. \nWe will discuss these trends and analyze how and where our communities are being affected. Hear directly from Regional Director Scott Richman\, Deputy Regional Director Alexander Rosemberg\, Director of Community Affairs Rachel Grinspan\, and Associate Regional Director\, Alana Burman in this exclusive opportunity to learn more about ADL’s critical work and impact.

SUMMARY:My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes\, A Special Presentation
DESCRIPTION:SPECIAL GUESTS\nElizabeth Bettina \nConsulting Producer of “My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes”\nand Author of “It Happened in Italy: Untold Stories of How the People\nof Italy Defied the Horrors of the Holocaust” \n David Waren \nDirector of the Anti-Defamation League’s Education Division \nWould you risk your life to save a stranger and never talk about it? \n“My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes” tells the story of sports idol Gino Bartali and other courageous Italians who carried out ingenious schemes to rescue Jews\, partisans and refugees from Nazi-occupied Italy. Gino Bartali is a sports legend; but his most daring triumph came when he risked his life over and over to save Jews threatened by Nazi extermination. The story of Bartali and the secret network he worked with stands in for the stories of thousands of Italians who risked their lives to save others from capture and death. As an entire continent was engulfed in a genocide which took the lives of most Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe (nearly 6 million people)\, more than 80 percent of Italy’s Jews survived. Bartali\, like most of the rescuers\, never sought recognition or reward. Few of those he helped knew his name or what role he played in their rescue. \nIn collaboration with the New York Region of the Anti-Defamation League and the Italian American Forum\, Morgan Stanley is proud to host the screenwriters and producers\, as well as Holocaust survivors from Italy to  share an important story of what happens when good people stand up to the face of evil.
