ADL Launches Timely Speaker Program on Anti-Semitism

  • October 14, 2014

The New York Region is excited to launch a timely public program entitled “Anti-Semitism Today: Global to Local”.

This program features ADL New York Regional Director Evan Bernstein and a discussion on the current state of international and local anti-Semitism in light of current conflict in the middle east and around the world. This presentation will assess where anti-Jewish beliefs are most problematic and the ways in which anti-Israel sentiment is increasingly a popular guise for anti-Semitism.

Evan Bernstein is currently ADL’s New York Regional Director and is responsible for overseeing all New York regional staff and initiatives. He is regularly quoted in news sources that have included the New York Times, CNN and the Associated Press. Evan currently sits on the New York City Public Advocate’s Hate Crime Task Force and was one of the founders of the Long Island Coalition Against Anti-Semitism. While at the ADL he has overseen the creation of the Long Island and Westchester advisory committees and the launching of the New York Regional Advocacy Political Summit. Evan came to ADL after extensive nonprofit experience that includes serving as the Executive Director for the American Friends of Midgal Ohr and as the State Director in Arizona for AIPAC.

Evan earned a Bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University and in 2007 won the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. He also earned a Master’s in Extension Studies in the field of General Management – Nonprofits from Harvard University.
