This week we hosted Cameron Brown of Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies, for a presentation on shifting demographics and American public support for Israel. Our Latino-Jewish Roundtable also focused on Israel with a conversation on perceptions and reality, and what this has to do with the US Latino communities. We condemned an apparent anti-gay shooting in the West Village, one of several recent anti-gay attacks, as tragic and shocking and trained students at a local high school to become allies to their peers and others. We welcomed the boy scouts vote ending its ban on gay youths but urged the organization to abolish remaining discriminatory policies. We also welcomed the appointment of Ira Forman as the State Department’s new envoy on anti-Semitism.
This Memorial Day weekend, we remember the troops who have served and continue to serve our country and hope that you have an excellent three day holiday.
