Over 200 Schools in New York & New Jersey Recognized by ADL as No Place For Hate® in 2018

  • June 7, 2018

When we empower the next generation of leaders to promote inclusion and respect today, they become the inspirational change agents of tomorrow. In our annual No Place for Hate® Recognition Ceremonies, held this May in New York City and Albany, we proudly celebrated students and educators from 207 schools who committed to those values through working together to combat bias and bullying by participating in ADL’s No Place For Hate® Initiative.

No Place For Hate® is designed to encourage and equip school communities with a framework to create inclusive and bully-free learning environments. The program empowers schools to provide students the opportunity to conduct activities and programs to raise awareness of the negative effects of name-calling and bias, and the importance of promoting unity and respect.

Every year, ADL recognizes schools across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Northern New Jersey, and the Capitol Region for their participation in No Place For Hate®. This year’s recognition ceremonies gave student leaders a voice – students took to the stage to emcee the program, perform poems and songs and share words of encouragement to their peers. ADL knows that fighting hate has to start with the youth and we are proud to celebrate their achievements every year!
