ADL NY Stands United at City Hall Press Conference for Launch of #Stemdup

  • December 27, 2017

On December 26, 2017 at City Hall, ADL New York Associate Director Melanie Robbins spoke at an interfaith press conference in support of our partner Sheikh Musa Drammeh, co-founder of the Islamic Leadership School and Muslim Community Report. At the conference, Sheikh called on leadership and especially the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) to formally adopt the #stemdup initiative (a policy of promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Democracy, Unity and Peace). The initiative, inspired by President Obama, has become part of Sheikh Musa’s ongoing work to combat extremism and hate. ADL is proud to support Sheikh Musa and his mission to educate young people in order to fight hate. We will continue to be a model for strong Muslim-Jewish partnerships in New York, as proof that religion does not divide us, but our diversity strengthens our shared goal to combat hate in all its forms.
